Ill Manors: Ways of Promoting



The main page on the Ill Manors website contains a number of different characters, which allows the audience to see all the characters in the film. The film has a multi-stranded narrative which means that many characters are present but they all have different stories and lifestyles. The background behind the characters is a very similar location used in the film which represents where the film may have been shot in. The design layout for the website has been put together to hint to the viewer the setting of the film, the main characters and its narrative. The scenes change automatically when the user clicks on a different link words such as 'trailer' and 'synopsis'. The website has different tabs, which allow the audience to look into certain topics of the film such as videos, links, reactions and pictures. This allows the audience to see behind the scenes of how the film was made. Oh the side of the website, you can see the trailer and it is the first one, so that the audience is encouraged to look at it. When watching the trailer, the audience will be able to see the characters, the stars' names, the institutions that were involved in the making of the film, the release date, and what the film was rated. When the audience sees all the information, it can attract them to go see the film even more. When the audience see the main stars, they may not recognise them but that can also encourage them to go watch them film, so that they can find out about new and up and coming actors. When watching the trailer, the audience will be able to guess the genre of the film by the iconography  characters, settings, lighting etc. The genre is crime drama. The target audience for Ill Manors is 18-28 year olds, as they will be able to link with the story lines. One of the most important things in the trailer is the release date, and the reason that the director has decided to put it at the end is so that the audience will remember the date and will want to go and see it in cinemas. Th reviews are also another important factor as the audience will be influenced by the reviews, so then it will encourage them even more to go and see it. The director of the film is Plan B, and he is a voice-over in the trailer, and the audience will be able to recognise him as he is a singer, in the middle of the trailer, the director is named ' From Visionary Artist Plan B', this will allow the audience to recognise him. And his fan base will go and see the film to support him. The editing in the trailer is montage, and it shows a non linear narrative, this means that the fast pace in the trailer will excite the audience and make them want to go and see the film. 

Social Networking Sites: E-Media



Social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter can help promoting movies, and can get in touch with their audience quicker. There are advantages and disadvantages to promoting on social networking sites but it can make the movie popular and have everyone talking about it. The picture above is the Ill Manors twitter page, and its all about the film, characters, story etc. This is an effective way of promotion  as many people use twitter so they will be able to hear about the movie even quicker. The audience will be able to see what the film is about and get more fans. It is very useful and the movie can get popular over night, the audience can watch videos, look at pictures on a daily basis.Also the audience will be updated as they let them no it is out. So overall as you can see from the use of this site there are various ways to get to a wider range of audience.


Above is the Ill Manors Facebook page, this is another social networking site which Ill Manors have promoted, this page has over 20,000 likes, which shows that the audience are liking the page and enjoying all the posts. People from all over the world can recognise the film and can find out more information by just reading the page. The page has links to videos, pictures, videos etc. The Facebook page is helpful because, people can read more about the film, comment on it, watch Plan B Ill Manors song etc. Also, the DVD for Ill Manors is promoted as well on the Facebook which is effective, for people who want to watch the film or want to watch it again. On the Facebook page they have put up the same print advert image of Ill Manors, to make the viewer’s more aware of the film.
